Interns in the Washington, D.C., bureau will be expected to cover a range of government and political stories in and around the Washington area, as well as contribute to the stories of other reporters when necessary.
Applicants must be college graduates, with previous experience covering politics or government preferred. Reporters should send at most eight newspaper clips or story links. Clips may be reduced, but must be legible.
The applicant’s primary clips or links should focus on the specific position the applicant desires, but clips or links showing a variety of reporting and writing ability are acceptable.
A cover letter and résumé with references are required with all applications. Application materials will not be returned, and applicants should not expect an explanation of why their application was accepted or rejected.
