The Youth Counselor provides behaviorally focused mental health services to children and families. The primary responsibilities of the Youth Counselor are to act as behavioral coach and mentor to clients referred into the program and in need of additional support. Counselors work with youth in their environments by assisting adoptive/foster parents with mental health support, skill building, crisis intervention, individual rehab, and case management services. Youth Counselors also help with planning activities that encourage social development and supporting the youth in getting access to community resources. The Youth Counselor is a member of a treatment team that seeks to provide families with strengths-based, family-focused support.
Seneca Family of Agencies is committed to providing traditionally marginalized communities a network of outstanding mental health, community based, and educational services. Celebrating diversity and creating a culture of inclusion increases creativity, innovation, problem solving, and teamwork. Seneca’s agency-wide DEI Advisory Board, Employee Resource Groups, and Language Practice Groups help our employees provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to the families we serve.
