Full-Time Job Expires February 1, 2021

The Behavior Intervention Specialist works with the CrossCOST team in implementing short-term intervention services and supports systems development across the charter school network. Their work follows the core principles of the Unconditional Education model. Within our public-school partnership programs, Seneca seamlessly interweaves special education services with rich therapeutic and behavioral supports to intervene quickly and efficiently with students with diverse needs. Many students with academic deficits have experienced years of school failure; it is our goal to provide an enriching and successful environment where students’ strengths are celebrated, and their needs addressed with a variety of targeted interventions.

The role of the Behavior Intervention Specialist is to support students who exhibit the most challenging of behaviors in modifying their behavior in order to access their education and stay in the lowest level of school placement possible and assist teachers in providing services as well. Based on the referrals that the CrossCOST team receives, this position may be responsible for monitoring, redirecting, and modifying student progress regarding maladaptive behaviors and performance and administering intensive behavior intervention programs to identified students. Additionally, the Behavior Intervention Specialist can provide coaching, modeling, and development opportunities to school staff.

Seneca Family of Agencies is committed to providing traditionally marginalized communities a network of outstanding mental health, community based, and educational services. Celebrating diversity and creating a culture of inclusion increases creativity, innovation, problem solving, and teamwork. Seneca’s agency-wide DEI Advisory Board, Employee Resource Groups, and Language Practice Groups help our employees provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to the families we serve.
