Full-Time Job, Internships Expires February 28, 2021

Magazine – ARTS Reporter– Fall Semester, 2020 and Beyond – VOLUNTEER

– 5+ stories/year

Check with your Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting to determine how you might do this internship for credit.

Picture This Post magazine, www.picturethispost.com, alerts time-strapped readers to cultural offerings that are the best match for their interests in art, books, dance, film, museums, music, theater, as well as travel with a focus on culture. We not only cover culture creators and venues with high name recognition, but also delight in helping to showcase bold, creative strokes by fledgling artists in all genres.

Here is a link to the Picture This Post Art Section—where you click a picture to read a story. Keep clicking “Read More” to find earlier art stories in our magazine.

To become a Picture This Post Writer, you will first complete a “trial balloon” initial story to ensure that you are comfortable with the “Picture This” writing style as well as our editing process.

Please see:

Please ALSO see:

Note: If you would like to see additional Writers’ Guidelines and other Writer Training Tools before you apply, please contact the Editor-in-Chief via an online message here: https://www.picturethispost.com/contact-us/

For Arts reporters, a second trial balloon is also recommended—to ensure that the “reporter-on-the-scene” style of covering art exhibits etc. is of interest to you. Please note we do NOT write in the traditional voice of art critics—rather our focus is on the zeitgeist surrounding or captured by the art.

After completion of your initial stories, you will have a phone consultation with the Editor-in-Chief to discuss your preferred types of art events to cover. You will also be given an orientation to our automated systems to find review opportunities in all areas that Picture This Post covers that you might, at some point, also be interested in: art; dance; music; theater; books; museums; film.

Please Note: ALL Picture This Post editors and writers are volunteers—from top to bottom. There is not a paid internship opportunity.

Once you are an official Picture This Post Writer you are not expected to write reviews on any schedule. You only sign on to review events, etc. that you are interested in. Some writers pen reviews as often as five times a week; some writers might only do five reviews a year.

This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in both the art world and honing their writing skills.
