Requires a Master’s Degree in Spanish or 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish.Assesses student abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.Plans appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities including determination ofappropriate principles of learning, instructional organization and grouping, kind, and level ofmaterials.Implements an instructional program which provides appropriate learning experiences.Manages the behavior of learners in an instructional setting to ensure environment isconducive to the learning process, and assists and participates in management of studentbehavior in other parts of the school, center, school grounds, or work site.Coordinates instructional activities with other professional staff, both school and non-schoolbased, as required, to maximize learning opportunities.Utilizes a variety of instructional materials, media and computer technology to enhancelearning.Requests assistance from resource personnel, as needed.Works in a self-contained, team, departmental, itinerant capacity, or at field work site, asassigned.Participates in staff development activities and staff meetings, as required or assigned.Assesses student achievement and maintains appropriate documentation for institutional andindividual reporting purposes.Ensures continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep theminformed of their children’s progress.Communicates with students on instructional expectations and keeps them informed of theirprogress in meeting the expectations.Manages allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.Supervises and assigns work to instructional assistants, as well as parent and studentvolunteers.Ensures that classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthy, safe, andconducive to learning and that materials are accessible to students and in good condition.Supports or participates in student activities and social events and approved fundraisingactivities.Monitors student behavior in non-instructional areas, intervenes to control and modifydisruptive behavior, and informs the appropriate administrator.Collaborates with other professionals (guidance counselors, librarians, etc.) to carry outschool-wide instructional or related activities.Performs related duties as required or assigned.
