Internships Expires January 29, 2021

The Development and Fundraising Intern will work directly with the Director of Development. Interns must commit a minimum of 12 hours per week for this internship, Monday-Friday, with some weekend work necessary for special events. Since this is an unpaid internship, interns are encouraged to earn academic credit for this experience. Please consult with your faculty advisor.

Intern duties will include donor data entry, entering gifts into NCR Counterpoint and Raiser’s Edge, filing, creating and updating Excel spreadsheet mailing lists, preparing membership renewal letters, writing and compiling acknowledgement letters, researching new constituents and potential donors, and interacting with donors and members. Interns will be also be tasked with finalizing all details necessary for the Rooms to View Preview Party and House Tour, a major donor event. Interns will gain experience with data entry and basic development concepts in a non-profit setting, and will gain skills in Raiser’s Edge, NCR Counterpoint, and advanced skills in Word and Excel. They will also gain valuable exposure to non-profit donor development, including the concept of moves management.

The successful intern will be detail oriented and extremely accurate in data entry. They will be organized, and able to transition from task to task, as needed, in a fast-paced environment. The successful intern will exhibit an eagerness and ability to learn quickly, as well as the willingness to ask questions when they are uncertain. Professionalism in their appearance and demeanor and strict confidentiality is a must.

Successful completion of fundraising and/or non-profit development courses preferred. A basic knowledge of Word and Excel required. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge is a plus, though not required.
