As a Police Officer you will perform a variety of law enforcement duties, including patrol, traffic enforcement, responding to calls for service and addressing the crime and safety concerns of community members and businesses. Initial training consists of our 30+ week paid, non-residential Basic Training Academy and field-training.
Henrico Police is a full-service agency with more than 20 specialized units including SWAT, K-9, Narcotics, Investigations, Crash Team and Motors. Officers are eligible to join specialized units two years after field training.

The tentative hire date is June 21, 2021. A full background investigation, including a criminal history record check and fingerprinting, is conducted on all persons selected to proceed to the background phase of the process.
