The Registered Nurse (RN) is an active part of the treatment team for the patients Human Services serves. Registered nurses are responsible for providing professional nursing care and treatment services for a wide variety of acute and long-term psychiatric and behavioral disorders that require intensive in-patient psychiatric evaluation and treatment includes participation in crisis situations and utilizes intervention. RNs in this facility will administer prescribed medications/treatments; observe, interpret, record and report behavioral and treatment changes; alert appropriate staff to consumer that may exhibit adverse reaction or response to medication. The RN will direct assignments of licensed professional nurses and psychiatric aides on the unit.
