Who are We?

Brooke Charter Schools is a network of five public charter schools, serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. At Brooke, we coach and invest in our teachers so that they can help our students achieve at high levels and graduate from college. Our students thrive because we know them as learners and people. This ensures that we challenge them to their highest potential.

What is the Associate Teacher Role?

As an Associate Teacher at Brooke, you set the tone for growth, learning, and teamwork. It’s for our kids; nothing less than the best will do when you’re helping students succeed. In order to become the best teacher possible, you’ll be paired with a talented mentor teacher who will support you with regular observations, coaching conversations, and formal monthly evaluations. You’ll start the year observing great teachers in action and gradually take on more teaching responsibility as the year progresses. Meanwhile, you will participate in over 300 hours of professional development in order to deepen your knowledge of great teaching and prepare you to take on your own classroom the following year.

Associate Teachers earn a full salary and benefits. Salary ranges from $37,000-$40,000 depending on campus placement. Associate Teacher candidates also have the option to apply for an Associate Teacher Scholarship which provides an additional stipend that is added on to the base salary.

Is This You?

  • Teaching is your passion.
  • You believe that great teaching is the leading indicator of student success and have an unwavering belief in your students’ capabilities.
  • You are professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
  • You are eager for feedback as a means to grow.
  • You have earned a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have a strong math or science background and a deep comfort with physics.
  • You can start immediately.

The community and students we serve are diverse, and we are committed to reflecting that diversity in our staff. We strive to have the most diverse applicant pool possible; to that end, we encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply for any position at Brooke Charter Schools. By fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, we provide the best educational experience to prepare our students for a future reflective of the world in which we live.
