The Murphy Laboratory at Boston University’s Center for Regenerative Medicine (CReM) is seeking an energetic and efficient lab technician/manager.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: basic laboratory maintenance, ordering and preparing laboratory reagents, maintaining stem cell lines, performing experiments, recording and analyzing data using basic statistics, and performing routine Mycoplasma screenings.
Specific skills and personal attributes required include: a strong interest in stem cell research and molecular biology, expertise in cellular biology, immaculate organizational skills with exquisite attention to detail, computer and technological savvy, multi-tasking ability, enthusiasm and high energy. Expertise in molecular biology, viral vector production, and mouse handling are also desirable.
Ideal candidates should demonstrate good team-working abilities and strong collegiality, as they will be part of a multidisciplinary network consisting of over 60 scientists from seven neighboring laboratories at the center.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or a related field.
- Experience with wet lab work (standard molecular techniques is a plus).
- Willingness to work in vivo (rodent models).
- Excellent organization skills, and proficiency with basic computer software.
