Career Development for Undergraduate Students
The Center for Career Development provides career development coaching, programs, and resources to help students make confident choices. Our staff offers individual appointments, classroom seminars, workshops and programs to provide students with empowering information.
All programming and coaching in the Center for Career Development is grounded in best practices and empirical evidence provided by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and career development literature.
We utilize the BORO model, a four-year plan that provides students with tools that are proven to be effective at specific times during their career development:
Freshmen: Form a knowledge BASE through programs that expose you to career development concepts.
Sophomores: Take OWNERSHIP by engaging with career development programming to help prepare for internships and experiential learning.
Juniors: Get REAL-world experience. We know that your world is very real, but we also know that the world of career can seem intimidating and different than college. Use this year to get in the field, network with alumni and professionals in your field, and get hands-on in professional settings.
Seniors: Seize OPPORTUNITIES. Work with employers who visit campus, the career development staff, mentors, faculty and anyone else who can help connect you with opportunities after college.
